So I went to an incredible workshop last weekend entitled "Best Year Yet for Women". For those of you who live in the San Jose area and didn't go...you really missed out. Joel DeCuster did an incredible job getting 50 women motivated and inspired to have our "Best Year Yet!"
I went to the workshop unsure of what goals I wanted to set for 2009, or what I really wanted to focus on (as I'm sure I could come up with like 1000 things I could improve on), but what was going to be my focus this year? do I really have to go back to the weight thing? Should I really try and cut back on chocolate again? How many years do I have to say that I'm going to be tall, dark, and skinny...honestly? haha
So after the presenter walked us through the program, I realized that my goal is just that... to set goals!! Because of our lax schedule the past few months, I've really slowed things down. It's been three months now since I've been active at the YMCA and boy has that thrown things off! I have really learned that by setting goals and making plans in advance, you get so much more out of life. So, as is tradition in goal-making, we are to share the goals with a friend so that they can help motivate and encourage you. I couldn't choose just one...so I decided all of you would get the priviledge...so here goes my rough draft:
1. Plan weekly (including scheduling babysitters in advance)
2. Not coming up with excuses for things
3. Stay active (mentally, physically, and spiritually) Reading, Exercising, and Listening
As simple and generic as these sound--they are actually very specific and meaningful to me, and that's what counts.
Your goals sound fantastic! I look forward to hearing about your successes.
