A True Runner

Yesterday I was not in the mood to run. I knew I had to, so i put on my shoes and clothes and got myself ready. I still couldn't motivate myself to move...so i texted my friend Kimberly (one of my inspirational runner friends mentioned earlier). This was the conversation:

me: so how do you motivate yourself on days when you just don't want to run
Kim: I just go. Put on your shoes and walk outside. You don't have to run fast or far you just have to go. Think about how good you'll feel after. You can do it!
me: I'm already in my shoes and outside! lol
Kim: Cool. Okay get going sister. Text me when you're done.


Me (in my head) WHAT?? she's crazy. She really is A TRUE RUNNER. Doesn't she know how tired I am? This is how you can tell I am not A TRUE RUNNER yet. If someone would've texted me...this is what i would've said:

Friend: so how do you motivate yourself on days when you just don't want to run
me: I just don't go. I find a really good excuse and make myself busy with something else. Don't worry about it--there's always tomorrow.
Friend: oh ok, I'll stay home. i'm tired anyway.
me: good for you. enjoy it. :)

LOL Needless to say, I DID go running after Kim's motivational text. I managed 2 miles and of course felt "better" ;) Then I texted her to report in as she requested. Her final text back to me...

"good job sister. I'm proud of you"

And that my friends is what a true runner sounds like. I doubt if I'll ever make it there! hahaha
