I'm on day 6 of c-section recovery and I've built up my mileage to .5 miles!!! haha This surgery/recovery went way better than the other two. I about gave the nurse a heart attack when she walked in my room 9 hours after surgery and there i was on the edge of my bed ready to get up and walk. She said, "I've been a nurse for over 23 years and I have only seen two other people up and walking on day of surgery" So she used me as her little trophy and we walked the halls with her telling everyone we passed, "she just had a c-section at noon today...LOOK AT HER!" It was quite funny, I felt like a movie star or something, lol. Needless to say, I did more laps the next two days and was cleared to leave the hospital early. Now that I've been home I keep up the walking, it's not only good for me physically, but it's mentally therapeutic for me. We have beautiful weather right now and Jacob loves following along on his scooter while I scoot along at a slow pace.
I was impressed with myself when i woke up this morning because I actually had the thought, "Oooh it's beautiful outside, I should go for a quick run before Paco goes to work". But then .2 seconds later...I remembered that would be impossible. LOL But it does prove to me that my brain is still in running mode. Even though I haven't ran for a while, it still consumes me and I think about it all the time.
So.. here's to a quick recovery and that January 14th comes soon (my 6 week mark!) :)
Oh my goodness girl. You are amazing. And crazy all at the same time. XO
