In just five more days our family of four will become a family of five. It's crazy to think about, but we are super excited for her to be here with us!
Thanksgiving Day marked Paco's very first official running race. He did a 5K along with about 12,000 others in the Silicon Valley. The other 10,000 people ran the 10K. it was a BUSY day in downtown San Jose! Let's just say that I wallowed in a bit of self-pity and envy all morning at the race. I wish I had been in that race! This has been such a hard pregnancy that I am to the point that even walking 1/2 a mile is painful. I try to walk a mile whenever I can, but I push hard to make it. I am VERY MUCH looking forward to being able to walk without pain (or without having to go to the bathroom after 1/4 mile) haha!
So exciting news--I found out they moved up our church's 5k to FEBRUARY 25th of next year. I am SUPER excited because that will give me the perfect amount of time to be ready for my first post prego race. Then in APril is the "Sweatin' for Sammy" race that I volunteered for last year. This year I will be running it instead of being on the planning board. Then my goal is to get in a sprint triathlon in the summer. They usually do one here at Almaden Lake... we'll see if I can actually pull off training for bike and swimming, I might have to stick with running. Maybe I"ll try a 10K in the fall.
Anyway, just writing this is therapeutic for me. wow. It helps me remember that there is life after pregnancy! haha
Christine, I haven't seen you in too long, I don't think I even knew you were having a girl!! Good luck and sleep as much as you can the next 5 days! (Chris's bday is the 8th, that would have been a good day too!)
